Hi! I'm Mrs. Kathleen Casazza the First Grade teacher at Holy Name of Mary School. I am looking forward to a great year with your little one!
I joined the Holy Name of Mary family after finishing my undergraduate degree at Cabrini College in Radnor Pennsylvania. I taught first grade for six years and then left for a few years to be home with my children, Eddie and Tara. I returned to Holy Name after finishing my Masters at Adelphi University. I have taught Pre-K, Kindergarten, and First grade. These past 5 years have been very enjoyable teaching Pre-K, however, I am very excited to be back in first grade again. I have spent a great deal of time getting ready for this upcoming year. I look forward to being a part of your child's first grade jouorney!
My teaching style is a hands-on approach where students learn through group work, independent work, and a great deal of positive reinforcement. It is important for children to feel good about themselves and not be afraid to try new things or make mistakes. (Only God is perfect, we all make mistakes!!)
I'm looking forward to a great year. I am confident that our journey will be positive and successful if we all work together. It is so important to have a strong home and school connection. It is my goal to instill a love of learning and have your child's experience this year be positive and successful.
My family is very important to me. I feel very blessed to have three beautiful grandchildren . Alena (3) and Teddy (5) and Mary Catherine (3 months) bring such joy to our family. In addition to my grandchildren, my children, Eddie and Tara, along with their spouses, Debbie and John and all my nieces and nephews, my golden retrievers Maddie and Charlie bring a great deal of joy to my life. I love to share stories about my life. My hope is that the children enjoy sharing as well.
I truly love teaching. I knew I wanted to be a teacher from the time I was a little girl. These young learners are so excited and enthusiastic. I am looking forward to being a part of their journey. This is going to be a wonderful year. I know together we will truly make this First Grade experience a wonderful one!
