Welcome Back! This will be my second year teaching fourth grade at Holy Name of Mary. I have a bachelor's degree in both General and Special Education grades 1-6. I am working on my Masters degree in Educational Technology. I am so excited to be your teacher!
In Miss Cutrone's fourth grade class, students presented their Black History Month projects. The fourth graders had to research an inspirational African American and summarize their accomplishments and how they've made a difference in everyone's lives. In Miss Cutrone's math class, fourth graders counted and sorted conversation hearts to create fractions. After adding up their total amount of candy, students wrote fractions for the different amounts of each color, like white, green, purple, pink, and yellow! Students also identified the numerators and denominators before adding and subtracting the different fractions.
In Miss Cutrone's math class on the 100th day of school, 4th grade had to budget with $100. Given a fake $100 bill and a spreadsheet, students challenged themselves to buy things for the classroom without going over budget. This real-world mathematics lesson also developed students' financial literacy!
