Day of the Dead sugar skull

"Dia De Los Muertos"
Day of the Dead
November 1st and 2nd

Day of the Dead is a traditional Mexican Holiday which honors the souls of the dearly departed. It is a combination of the Catholic Holidays "All Saints Day" and "All Souls Day" as well as a blend of their native traditions. It is not a scary day. In fact, it is a festive celebration. Sugar Skulls are a traditional decoration. They are skull shaped designs formed out of a doughy, sugar clay which is molded into the shape of a skull. They are then colorfully decorated into symmetrical designs.

¡Hola!

My name is Maria Murphy and I am very excited to be teaching Spanish to your children. This is my 3rd year as part of the Holy Name of Mary Family and I'm pleased to teach Spanish language to grades 4 - 8.
We have a lot of exciting things coming our way this month. We will be building basic language skills which will be a great foundation for language learning in the years to come.

I look forward to working with your child. Feel free to e-mail me with any concerns or questions.
